Left to right: Daphne, Sharon, Sally, Helena, Debra and Erica.
We meet six women and mothers who've swapped school gate small talk for dance parties and DJ battles. With friendships formed on the decks, their midweek meetings are moments where they get to be completely themselves. And we like the sound of that.

Why is music so important to you?
Debbie: Music is a complete leveller. At gigs, you have people of every gender, ethnicity, age. You get everyone there and they’re moving in unison. You feel united by something.
Sharon: You lose your identity a bit when you have a baby. Going to gigs and going out for a dance has been a big part of getting that back.
Helena: I’d say that’s how I’d sum up our friendship. Of course, fun would be in capital letters. But I’d also say it’s liberating. Our friendship is about reclaiming ourselves, getting back to who we were in the nineties.
