Black women are rewriting Unwritten Rules in sport

There is no picture of sport and no picture of adidas without Black women. This month, we’re celebrating the stories of six athletes who shatter expectations on and off the field, break barriers, and are changing the game for the next generation. 

Kahleah Copper, Imani Dorsey, Kendra Harrison, Angel McCoughtry, Sarah Nurse, and Erica Wheeler are pushing both sport and culture forward by remaking the outdated rules of expression, appearance, mental health, and identity.  

At the top of their craft, these athletes are inspiring change not only in sport, but also in the communities around us. As catalysts, they are actively rewriting the script of what it means to authentically show up. Their stories are not impossible. Because they’re possible.
