How to Grow Ginger. Pictured: Ginger
Although ginger is a tropical plant, with some extra care you can grow it in a cold climate. And now is the perfect time to get started! You just need three things to get going:
1: A piece of organic fresh ginger root from your local market. 2: A shallow pot. 3: High quality organic potting soil
Be sure to get organic roots as non-organic varieties are typically sprayed with growth inhibitors, which will prevent them from sprouting. Once your roots have sprouted, and outdoor temperatures are consistently above 55° F, you can move your ginger plants outdoors.
