Celebrating 60 years of its iconic motorsport-inspired chronograph, TAG Heuer reintroduces the collection to the world with a new line of Carreras sporting updated functionality, bold colorways, and the minimalistic elegance and sporty appeal for which the line is known and loved. To mark this occasion, TAG Heuer has released new Carreras, which are available now in the Hodinkee Shop.

INTRODUCING: THE REDESIGNED TAG HEUER CARRERA

"I've never been so surprised by a TAG Heuer watch. I had the chance to see this one in the metal, and its redesign really is a confluence of two design styles: the vintage and the hyper-modern.

On one hand, you have the sloping dial, and the aggressive markers with the sunray finish. But then you have old-school typography for the numerals on the tachymeter scale. And in the case of the reverse panda, you get touches of faux-patina and the callback to the Dato via the 12 o'clock date window.

I was psyched to see this was released in a 39mm sizing, but it got better once I put it on my wrist. In my experience, TAG Heuer watches wear quite large. This one felt like a vintage piece. It honestly felt like a 36mm chronograph. Now I only had the chance to handle the blue dial, but there was something about its unabashed sense of modernity that really worked for me. TAG Heuer seems to be operating with confidence when it comes to the future of its most important line."
