CBD is short for cannabidiol, which is one of more than 100 cannabinoids naturally found in Hemp. It is not psychotropic (it won't get you high, unlike it's sister molecule, THC) and is considered very safe. In fact, the World Health Organisation has stated that there are no public health risks or abuse potential for CBD. It's completely legal in the UK. CBD activates the cannabinoid receptors throughout your body - found int what's known as the endocannabinoid system. This tells your body to feel a certain way and do certain things, as well as affecting and regulating other important functions like your immune, nervous, and gastrointestinal systems. Deficiencies in the endocannabinoid system are known to play a role in many conditions, including anxiety, insomnia, PTSD, acne, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Neuropathy and MS. CBD can help your body to help itself, by stimulating the endocannabinoid system to produce more of the chemicals it is lacking and help your body achieve a state of balance (homeostasis). It's this unique property that we use as the basis for all our formulations. Find out more in our science blog. |
