Terpene Tuesday is back and better than ever!
This week, we got Myrcene one of the few things that relates beer and marijuana together.
Not only is Myrcene a natural terpene found in hemp/cannabis.
Myrcene is also found in hops and is responsible for the peppery, spicy, balsam fragrance in beer.
I'm just as surprised as you but that's just the tip of the iceberg...
Myrcene can also be found in Mango, Thyme, and lemongrass.
But Myrcene is commonly found in numerous cannabis strains...
In fact, on average, myrcene represents over 20% of the terpene profile in modern commercial strains!
Something interesting is that it could be the reason we get the "couch lock" feeling.
Herbal medicines containing myrcene have a long history of being used as a sleep aid in folk medicine.
Scientist are even starting to study the effects myrcene has on pain and inflammation.
A lot is still being found out and researched and I can't wait to see what else is found...
