| From today until 11.59pm Sunday 7th March all orders placed on our website will receive Free Standard Delivery.
With Mother's Day coming up on Sunday 14th March, now is the perfect time to find a lovely gift for someone special. We have a selection of gift items available on our website, from bird feeders to garden gifts and homeware. Please order early to avoid disappointment.
Mother's Day is also a great time to appreciate and show some love towards Mother Nature. As we enter the Spring season our garden birds will be looking for nesting sites, as well as building a nest and raising their young. Garden birds prefer to find their own nesting material, however you can put out things like dog hair or special organic nesting wool, which can be offered from our Fiesta Nester so the birds can help themselves, it's also on offer throughout March.
With a busy few months ahead it is important to ensure your bird feeders are regularly filled with high energy foods, such as Hi-Energy No Mess. Not only do adult birds have to find food for themselves, but exert more energy doing the numerous food runs for their chicks too. Foods such as Mealworms will be a popular choice from now on, as they provide vital proteins young chicks need to grow. |

With Spring comes new life, and as we enter March our garden birds will be starting to think about the nesting season ahead. So you can give Mother Nature a helping hand, we've listed some top tips and top products for March that we think will be beneficial for your garden birds. |
The Fiesta Nester is an attractive way to provide nesting wool to your garden birds to help them build a safe home where they can raise their young. |

You can put up a nest box at any time of year, however in preparation for the nesting season we usually advise to put nest boxes up by the end of February as these will stand a good chance of being used for raising young if sited in a suitable spot. If you've not yet done so, don't worry, nest boxes sited after February may still be occupied, Tit's have been known to move into a nest box in April, and house martins as late as July. |
Feeding Garden Birds in Spring |
If you don’t provide dried mealworms throughout the year, early March is a good time to start putting them out. As for any new food, the best approach is to start with small quantities and to gradually increase the amount provided to match consumption. Adult birds will take dried mealworms all year round, but they really come into their own during the breeding season when they can be a valuable supplement to the natural food provided for nestlings. |

From now on garden birds will be extremely busy and so will be on the look out for high energy foods that they can eat quickly. Ensuring your bird feeders are topped up regularly and that there's a fresh water source available is of vital importance. Not only do birds have the tiresome job of nest building, but once the chicks have hatched parent birds will spend most of their day going back and forth to the nest with food, which can be very demanding, as well as ensuring they eat enough food to give them the energy they need to keep going themselves.
We would recommend feeding our best-selling Hi-Energy No Mess and Hi-Energy Bird Seed Mix to keep up their energy levels. Both foods are a popular food choice for a variety of different species and can be fed from tube feeders, hanging feeders and bird tables. |
