Attract more wildlife to your garden

Do you want to be a part of something special?

This weekend you can play a vital part in the protection of our wildlife, all you need to do is give up one hour of your time - it really is quite simple but very effective!

By taking an hour out of the day to monitor and record the birds we see in our garden or greenspace, we can help bird conservation charities to identify if a species is in decline and how we can all act fast to protect these birds.

If you find yourself wanting more, we have just launched our own Shropshire HQ birdcam!

keep an eye on the visitors in our very own garden over the weekend.

How you can take part in the Big Garden Birdwatch this weekend

Taking part in the Big Garden Birdwatch will not only help support our garden birds, it can also do wonders for our mental wellbeing. Taking part is extremely easy and simple to do!

    1. Find an hour between the 28th - 30th January where you will be completely distraction free and able to focus on your garden or greenspace.

    2. Simply count and record all the species which land in your garden, greenspace, balcony areas or local parks - you can take part where ever you are!

    3. Send your results to the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch Page so they can track patterns of species decline and act fast to protect our garden birds.

Top Tip: Only count birds which land in the area you're monitoring, if you count the ones in-flight you may count the same one twice!

Most of all, have fun and enjoy being outdoors and with nature!
