    The Normandy American cemetery is the most visited site run by the American Battle Monuments Commission (ABMC) with over a million visitors per year. Alongside the graves, there is a wall for the missing, containing 1,557 names. Rosettes mark the names of those since recovered/identified.

    The cemetery's significance is tied directly to Operation Overlord, however over 400,000 Americans were killed in WW2 alone.
