    Answer: C. Operation Mincemeat

    Operation Mincemeat was a successful British deception operation to disguise the 1943 Allied invasion of Sicily. It involved disguising a homeless mans body as a Royal Marine officer and planting false invasion plans of Greece (and expressing that the invasion of Sicily was a feint). The body was floated ashore from a submarine where upon the 'neutral' Spanish authorities found the body and gave the information to the Germans. 

    As the telegram from the UK to US wrote "Mincemeat swallowed rod, line and sinker by the right people and from the best information they look like acting on it."
