Kyle, NJ, 36 "I am a married father of three sons that works as a trainer and at a warehouse. I like to consider myself Superdad as I try to do a lot with my kids whether it’s taking them to the park, playing sports or having them workout with me. I always fit in time for my workouts as I do not want to look or feel like I did a while back. I have been obese for most of my life. I grew up as an obese child. I lifted and was strong but I looked like crap, and felt like crap. My career as a personal trainer wasn’t going well because who the heck wants to workout with someone that doesn’t look the part. I decided to make some changes to my current workout plan to get more clients and to be healthier for my family. I wanted to be that dad that can run all day with his kids and not be tired after. I decided to start incorporating some cardio into my routine along with a clean nutrition plan. I was never consistent with cardio and eating clean was always a downfall. I always thought I could out train bad eating and of course, I couldn’t. Clean eating was the hardest part for me but after a couple weeks, it became a habit. I would wake up around 5:30-6 am and start my day with 20-30 minutes of cardio. Eat breakfast then work at the warehouse until early afternoon. I would then drive to the gym and lift for an hour with 20-30 minutes of cardio after. I would train a few people then go home and hang out with the family. I would get a meal in every three hours. After a few months of this routine, I reached a weight I haven’t been since high school. After a year, I was in the best shape of my life. Things are a little different currently with Covid. I train people virtually and workout at home as I now have a home gym which I like better because I can still be with my family and even have them join in. This transformation made me realize that anything can be done as long as you put the effort in. Obviously, the hard work and determination attributed to my success but the biggest factor was the support of my family. My wife helped prep my meals and the boys and her would eat or at least try to eat like I did so I wasn’t feeling pressured. Behind every strong man is a stronger family helping them. My dream is to succeed as a personal trainer and motivate everyone I possibly can to achieve their best, physically and mentally. I also have another dream to see my sons become huge successes when they grow up. Hopefully I taught them well about drive and determination." |
