If you’ve seen the news lately, you’ve likely heard about how nearly half a million shipping containers are stuck off the coast of California, anchored in the ocean with nowhere to go.
If you haven’t heard about it, the nutshell version is that our ports have been operating below capacity for a long time due to the pandemic, and as a result, cargo ships are enduring one of the worst U.S. port bottlenecks in more than a decade.
So the question is… What does this mean for us as US citizens? And how will it impact our daily lives??
The answer is that any product you may order that comes from overseas could arrive extremely later than anticipated, or perhaps not at all. It also means that there will likely be continued shortages and price hikes in 2022.
