    What Does Calm Look Like?
     
     
     
    Muse helps you learn when you're in the zone.
     
    As you can imagine, getting detailed results from a meditation session can be very powerful.

    When you meditate with Muse you'll get a report with a graph that shows how long you were able to remain in an active, neutral, or calm mental state to help you reflect on how that session went.

    The graph divides each session into three regions that correlate to each brain state:

    1. Active - Wandering attention: This is time spent with a distracted mind where attention was fluctuating. 
    2. Neutral - Natural resting state: Attention isn't fluctuating, but there is also no deep focus present.
    3. Calm - Deep restful focus: These are moments when patients have been truly concentrated on their breath.

    Monitoring changes and trends over time in each state helps you to monitor your progress and look for patterns.  

    *Birds*: Prolonged focus and calm
    When you’re able to find a deep, restful focus for longer than 5 seconds, you may hear a few birds land nearby... but watch out, don't let them distract your focus or they'll fly away!
