RMH stands for River Myst Haven, a perfect name for a winery located in one of the coolest (both literally and figuratively) areas of Sonoma. Our selection is the quintessential expression of Pinot Noir from Sonoma/Petaluma Gap and particularly the cooler climate. This version is a bit lighter than most from California, with elusive fruit, lilting balance, and an authoritative finish. The oak component adds complexity and spice but doesn't hide the floral and spice notes underneath.
The color is light magenta with hints of ruby. In the nose, the terroir, not the wine making process, jumps out of the glass. The nose of cherry blossom and spice mixed with a touch of mint round out the nose and the matching flavor profile would be just the ticket for chicken tagine or lamb shanks cooked in tomato sauce and garlic.
