One of my best friends, Sammy Ramos, reached out to me a couple weeks ago with a beautiful story of generosity and sacrifice.
His family planted Cistern Church in Houston, TX and, like most church plants without a permanent space, COVID has forced their people to be creative. Their growing church was no longer able to hold Sunday services inside a local elementary school but they were offered use of an outside pavilion at the school (pictured) free of charge.
So what is a new church plant supposed to do with all those budgeted rent expenses now freed up? Perhaps, they could upgrade some equipment or hire a skywriter to announce their new location in the clouds. That's probably what I would do.
Sammy said they felt led to put their unused rent money towards our home build. That's a church that gives. Even better, they wanted it to be matching funds so you could join in the sacrifice with them.
As of this moment, $1,480 of their $3,000 gift is still available. If you join with them and wipe out that remaining money by May 1st, we'll hit our big goal of $100,000! Let's go!
