“I am 60 years old now. I worked for WEGO for 17 years and 4 months, and on July 27 this year I will be retiring. To be honest, being a part of WEGO’s ministry was the most wonderful thing I ever did."
Vicente's last line hit me hard. Truly one of the joys of my life has been serving alongside of him. As WEGO's longest tenured staff member and one of our deepest wells, Vicente has given much of his life to protect and care for the people in our ministries. He has been faithful to serve through rain, shine, and earthquakes. He has served under different leaders and through civil unrest and home-run derbies (the man can rake). We are so grateful for his life, his partnership in the Gospel, and for this new season of rest.
Will you join us in prayer for Vicente and the other churches, staff, and kids in our ministries?
PS- We are also praying for Ariuka, who was just adopted on April 30! She is the first child ever adopted out of New Hope Children's Home! Stay tuned for a longer post on her story next week...
