I have 5 kids. (Translation: I get asked a lot of questions.)
My wife and I work hard to raise our children to think for themselves but, inevitably, sometimes I want to say: "You're just gonna have to trust me on this". It is just hard to intricately explain everything I've learned in 39 years to a 2 year old. Neither of us have the brain function to make that transfer of knowledge even partially successful.
How much more does the God of Infinite Wisdom need to sometimes speak those 9 words to us? "You're just gonna have to trust me on this." He is quite aware of the gap between His capacity for knowledge and ours. Even more, our lack of understanding makes room for faith, the very thing it takes to please God. We're all just kids still learning to trust our Father.
Psalm 46:10 offers a clear response to many of our prayers and life's questions: "Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations." I've been thinking (and speaking) about this verse for a couple of weeks, specifically how it relates to missions during a pandemic. And what do you know, Aaron White also used this verse in this month's devotional. Take a moment today to see where God might be calling you to trust then pray for children, churches, and our staff around the globe.
