“In that day you will ask in my name, and I do not say to you that I will ask the Father on your behalf; for the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me and have believed me that I came from God.” John 16:26-27
Restored access to God is what believing in Christ is all about. We started out as enemies, but thanks to Jesus’s death and resurrection, we’re adopted into the family, and that means when we pray we can be sure our Father himself is listening.
That’s the beauty of prayer. Sin put man and God out of joint, but in Christ the relationship is restored to working order. Prayer is then an earthly return to Eden, a picture of the intimacy with God we will one day have in heaven. It’s an invitation from God to spend time with Him and get in on His plans.
This month, we’re asking you to take God up on the invitation. Come boldly before the Father with us and ask that Christ be glorified in these ministries as well as your own life. Take the concerns of your brothers and sisters before him. Enjoy the intimacy to be found in prayer, remembering that the Father himself loves you!
