Easter is here. Good Friday to Resurrection Sunday, the time has come to reflect on the sacrifice and victory of Jesus Christ. What we could not accomplish ourselves has been given to us for free: relationship with God. Isn’t that amazing? 

Propitiate: to win the favor of, or appease.

As sinful humans, we were only capable of incurring wrath (the exact opposite of propitiation), because God is entirely just, and will not abide sin. Right from the fall, God could have turned His back on us forever. But instead, in infinite wisdom, justice and love, He sent Jesus to be killed and raised back to life, that we might be forgiven. Then, as if not satisfied with this gigantic miracle of humility, He called us daughters and sons, and brought us into His family. 

What grace and mercy it is to us that we were actually made for this all along. The soul can only be satisfied by being with God, as Adam was, so God paved the road back to Eden with the blood of His Son. So as you pray through the guide this month, remember that this is what you were made for: communion with God. There is no pleasure that can fill you like the pleasure of being in relationship with Jesus Christ. Drink deep and be satisfied.
